Principal's Message

 

As principal, I am proud to say that South Gate provides the best school experience in the community!  I have served as a successful transformational principal for 10 years on the Eastside gathering valuable experience.  I am excited to return to work in the neighborhood I was raised in and where I started my educational career.  I believe that our staff collectively can foster a culture where all of our MIGHTY RAMS will be provided a strong foundation educationally, so that they may begin to make their mark in society.  South Gate High School has been in existence for 90 years, educating young scholars who have been involved in transforming their lives and community.  Our mission is to prepare our students to be college and career ready.  The staff, students, and parents are committed in providing a safe and nurturing environment that enables a focus on academic achievement.  Our alumni continue to pursue their dreams by attending universities like Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley, Cal State Fullerton, ELAC, and other colleges, universities, and trade schools.  We believe in providing students the tools to choose the right path for their education and life.  We also help and support parents to be informed to make the right choices for their child’s education.  South Gate is interested in providing options for students with over twenty Advanced Placement Programs and over fifty extra-curricular clubs and athletic teams to be part of the RAM family.  We hope that you will experience the rich history and tradition of South Gate High School and being a RAM for life!  Thank you.
