CA Dream Act & AB-540-FINANCIAL AID(Undocumented) Students
Only undocumented students complete this application
If you meet the eligibility criteria for an AB-540 student, then complete The CALIFORNIA DREAM ACT APPLICATION to receive financial assistance from the state to attend an accredited university, community college, or vocational school.

The application period is from October 1, 2022- March 2, 2023.
The financial aid process involves the following steps:
1. Gather all following documents if you have them.
- Your DACA SS# and your parents’ ITIN #.
- Your Driver’s License if you have one
- Your parents’ birth date(s)
- Date of your parents’ marriage, divorce, legal separation, or widowhood
- 2021 Federal tax forms, if your parents filed.
- Records of untaxed income such as Supplemental Security, Welfare, Disability, Veterans benefits and child support information
- Current business and investment mortgage information (business, stock, bonds)
- Savings and Checking account statements
2. Go to http://www.csac.ca.gov/dream_act.asp
- Complete the application
- You and one of your parents need to sign it online
- IMPORTANT NOTE: males should register for the selective service to receive financial aid. See Mrs. Corona to access the form.
3. The Cal Grant GPA Verification
The district electronically submitted your financial GPA to the state.
If there has been a mistake, please talk to Mrs. Corona.
4. Review your California Aid Report (CAR) sent by the state government.
- Create an account with http://www.webgrants4students.org to check the status of your Cal Grant or to make corrections.
5. If you are applying to private schools, find out if you need to complete the
- CSS Profile at Link Check with each university for the deadline. Some are due in January or February 2023
6. Check your e-mail on a regular basis.

2. PRINT in BLACK INK and use CAPITAL LETTERS ONLY!
3. For the social security # section, leave it black if you DO NOT have one.
4. Don't forget to sign it.
5. Mail it to the address on the right hand side of the instruction's page.

6. Selective Service will send you a Registration Acknowledgment in the mail. If you DO NOT receive a Registration Acknowledgment within 90 days, it is your responsibility to contact the Selective Service at 847-688-6888.
Deferred Action Information
1. AS SOON AS POSSIBLE submit an affidavit to every school you are considering attending in Fall 2020- Community College, Universities, or Vocational Schools.
Note: In some cases specific universities will use their own form.
2. READ all instructions on the second page.
a. At the top of the form add the name of the college or university.
b. For section #1 mark the last box (3rd box) if you are undocumented and DO NOT have a current visa.
c. For section # 2- ONLY complete Column A. On the chart below, list schools you attended the last 3 years.
d. Complete the bottom portion (print name, print address, Campus ID from college or university, email, sign it, and date it.)
e. AFTER completing this form for the college or universities you are considering attending, MAIL it to their admissions office. Get their address from their websites.
f. If possible, when you go to the post office, ask for a certificate of mail so you could track the form and make sure the college receives it.

- Be first time student applying to an associate's or bachelor's degree program at one of THEDREAM.US partner colleges
- 2.5 GPA or greater
- Be DACA eligible
