    COURSE DESCRiptions

    ASTRONOMY

In this rigorous course mostly everything in space is explored: from asteroids, planets, meteorites, to stars, galaxies, and the big bang theory. Some of the universe's mysteries will be discussed. A close analysis of Earth, its history, and systems will be conducted.

Labs are a major component of the course in which communication with partners is expected. Math is sometimes used for certain concepts but not extensively.

    PHYSICS

In this rigorous course most forms of energy are explored as well as motion and measuring accurately. Labs are a major component of the course in which communication with partners is expected. There is a great deal of math involved in the class; understanding word problems, extensive use of equations, and solving for variables are practiced. Algebra is used extensively as well as some trigonometry.

Some specific topics include velocity, forces, kinetic energy, momentum, sound, light, electricity, and acceleration.
