Information for Parents and Guardians
South Gate High School will provide daily live instruction to students Monday through Friday during school closures. This means that students are expected to attend daily live instruction for each class period scheduled for the day. Please check the schedule to see our school's calendar. Students must log in to their scheduled class during their scheduled time and follow additional instructions by support staff as needed. Teachers will take attendance every day.
Daily attendance will be tracked and documented as defined by student participation in:
- Daily, synchronous/live instruction (logging in through Schoology)
- Completion of assignments and assessments
If your student has missed scheduled live instruction and does not log in or communicate all day, you can send an email to studentabsences@southgatehs.org. In the email, please include the student's name, parent name, reason, date and callback number. We look forward to collaborating to ensure daily student engagement.
